CHALLENGE: You need to increase productivity by incorporating specific new software into your “tool kit.” You don’t understand the basic concepts and need some help getting started.

SOLUTION: I will review and learn the basics of your selected software and will teach you enough to get you started working comfortably. We’ll work at your pace and in the direction that you desire. Everyone learns differently; this approach lets you decide how best to proceed.

CASE STUDY 1: The owner of an art gallery found that her email notifications were being blocked as spam so we decided to incorporate MailChimp email services into her marketing strategy. I trained her on the basics from importing her existing Mac Mail contacts into the MailChimp database to creating templates and email campaigns. She learned how to track her campaigns using tools provided by MailChimp, and we added Google Analytics to her web pages so that she can see how effective her campaigns are in driving web traffic.

CASE STUDY 2: Because the IT staff person assigned was always behind schedule, an academic administrator wanted to learn how to design new pages in order to update her department’s web site. We structured a learning schedule that included designing with Fireworks, and managing with Dreamweaver. Her increasingly busy schedule precluded accomplishing much of what she had in mind, but with her new knowledge communication with the IT staff led to increased productivity.
